Todd County Elementary School, Mission, SD 5/7/2014

This project is currently 64% complete with the three classroom wings undergoing finish work. Painting, and acoustical ceilings are the primary work items in the classroom wings with cabinets and floorcovering soon to follow. The center commons area is being framed with mechanical and electrical rough in work on going. The 74,000 square foot elementary school is on track to finish August 7, 2014.

Thrivent Financial, Rapid City, South Dakota 4/28/2014

Dean Kurtz Construction crews wrapping up insulation and hanging drywall inside the future Thrivent Financial on Jackson Blvd. Openings have been cut for installation of new windows. Outside, new energy efficient LED soffit lights are installed and finished with new vented soffit panels. The entry is dressed up with rough sawn cedar post and framing wrap.

Midwest Motor Express, Inc. New Transfer Facility in Rapid City, SD 4/14/14

The new Rapid City Load Transfer Facility for Midwest Motor Express, Inc. will finish up this Spring with the completion of landscaping, fencing, and sidewalks.  The facility is located at 3720 Seger Dr., and includes 1900 SF of Office space and 11,100 SF of Loading Dock.  The Loading Dock area was constructed using a pre-engineered metal building, while masonry and wood was utilized for the Front Office construction.  This new location and facility will much better serve the needs and interstate access of this rapidly expanding company that was previously located on Deadwood Ave.

Sanford Homestake CASPAR Laboratory, Lead, SD 3/28/2014

Dean Kurtz Construction in association with the design firm of Leo A Daly was recently awarded a contract to design and construct a fully operational space with critical utility infrastructure at the 4850 level (approximately one mile below ground). The new space will house the Compact Accelerator System for Preforming Astrophysical Research (CASPAR). The project presents many challenges. Just accessing the worksite involves riding an elevator cage one mile down and then travelling horizontally .6 mile. Stay tuned to our newsfeed for more as this exciting project develops!
